Out of the water

Every result in our field so far happened in water.
DNA and proteins fold, bind and move in solution. That is where they work best. A chip fab is the opposite: dry, clean, and hostile to anything wet.
So the first question for Corbel is not how fast an arm can move, or how many arms fit on a die. It is whether the arms still work once the water is gone.
What the seed round pays for
We stiffen the structures so they hold their shape without liquid around them. We move the drive from ionic solution to dry nitrogen. Then we measure two things: does the arm still move, and can we read where it is?
We don't know the answer yet. Our scientific founder calls it doable with a lot of work. We think that is the honest way to put it, and we will share what we learn, including what does not work.
If this is your kind of problem, you should join us.
